Story:-
Set in 1950 era, after British left India, these Zamindars, Razakkars and the Nizam's men brutally ruled the villages. Rajanna (Nagarjuna) was an inspirational and passionate frontrunner who fought against the oppression and tyranny of the feudal 'Zamindars'. Eventually, Rajanna’s dies to save the village from the Razakkars. Later, Rajanna’s daughter ‘Mallama’ is brought up and she’s caught ignorant of her father’s daring repute. The plot unveils as how Mallama comes to know the truth about her father’s bravery and how she brings the matter to the fore.
Durga Analysis:
* First and foremost Nagarjuna must be commended for his faith in the story and for producing such a wonderful film.
* Nagarjuna gets into the skin of the character and plays Rajanna with élan. He has delivered the emotional lines well and tried to emote with his eyes in most of the scenes in the film.
* A standing ovation to Baby Annie for her performance as a seasoned artiste. This young girl has the ability to keep viewers glued to the screen. She tugs at the heart strings with her acting. She needs to undust her rack immediately for the series of awards knocking her door.
* Sneha does her part well. Shwetha Menon plays the dorasani with gusto. Ajay, Pradeep Rawat, Supreet and Sravan fit the parts well. Nasser and Gandhi did well in their allotted roles. Alapati Lakshmi,Telangana Sankuntala,Hema,Mukesh Rishi,Ravi Kale are ok.
* M M Keeravani's music breathes life into the movie. It’s easy on the ear and in sync with the film's narrative. Some of the songs like Veyyi Veyyi, Gijigaadu, Amma Avani (the last song in raga Mohanam) are noteworthy. The background score and rerecording are top notch. The songs evoke a strong emotion as they are an integral part of the story.
* Excellent camera work by Shyam K Naidu, Anil Bhandari and Poorna, good art direction (village set looks realistic) by Ravinder and tight editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. The attention to detail in the styling is credited to Rama Rajamouli. Film is technically sound and production values are rich.
* Rajamouli’s mark is seen in all the action sequences and it will act as a major attraction especially in the song Veyyi Veyyi, Vijayendra Prasad did a splendid job with the script and direction both as a writer and director. He should be commended for penning this script. It is beautiful story and his screenplay is also very interesting. He has taken care in dialect for most characters.
* Rajanna is one of the best movies to come out from tollywood in the recent times. When all the departments put in their best the outcome will be defiantly be good film. Nagarjuna proved himself with another experimental film by not only acting in it but by producing it.
Single Line Comment:- Rarely do we get chance to watch such realistic and honest film. Don’t miss!
