Story:- At a time when Mumbai police announces that there are no Bhai’s in Mumbai and everyone can run business, Surya (Mahesh Babu) lands in the country’s commercial capital with an intention to become a don. He slowly gains momentum and in the process also traps Chitra (Kajal) who is police commissioner’s (Nazer) daughter. Surya then locks horns with big shots and his juggernaut continues to the point where the plot will be unveiled as to why did Mahesh Babu came to Mumbai with such an intention.
Durga Analysis:
* “Businessman” is inarguably the best movie for Mahesh and Puri combo after delivering a blockbuster like Pokiri and for Mahesh after a massive hit like Dhookudu.
* Mahesh Babu is the lifeline for the film. He is pretty stylish and massy enough to conquer the hearts of the hordes of crowds watching him scorch the screens, he has strong screen presence, his modulation and diction in dialogue delivery is superb. Watch out for his fire filled eyes.
*Kajal is feast to the eyes. Sir osthara song showcased the seductress like the Goddess of Venus. Shwetha Bharadwaj has sizzled in the item number. Nazar, Prakash Raj, Shayaji Shinde, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Raza Murad are ok.
*Thamman’s music is ok, sir ostahara and pilla chao are good. His background music is superb which elevated some scenes very well.
*Excellent camera work by Shyam K Naidu, he captured the best from Mahesh’s close shots, fights choreographed by Vijay are excellent and tight editing by SR Shekar. Lighting is again an asset. Film is technically sound and production values are rich.
*Puri keeps you swinging like a pendulum, his approach appears fresh and he follows the structure and framework of filmmaking faithfully. Dialogues given by him are of top notch and certain one liners are quite catchy, every dialogue that Mahesh delivers draws whistles, howls.
*Screenplay is very tight, distinct and great in parts. Puri always triumphed as a writer and proves time and again that he is the best. The writer in him lent the script vim and vigour through furious dialogues, which did magic to the whole act.
Single Line Comment:- ONE MAN SHOW BY ‘MAHESH’. No one else but Mahesh could have carried off BUSINESSMAN so beautifully and confidently!
